Apple halts production of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Maxafter their release - is it really true? Follow along now!

By default, users only need to press and hold the Action button for the iPhone 15 Pro to switch between ringing and silent modes like the previous silent switch. You'll receive haptic feedback and animation in the Dynamic Island. However, you can also configure the new Action button to perform other actions such as launching apps, starting voice recording, activating accessibility features like Magnifier, toggling flashlight, or running Shortcuts.
Design Changes: Titanium Frame, USB-C, Slim Bezels
On the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, Apple has replaced the familiar stainless steel frame with Titanium, which is rated as more durable and lightweight. The company has also optimized the bezel size on its new iPhone Pro models. They still have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes but are slightly more compact due to thinner bezels.

With a smaller form factor and titanium frame, the iPhone 15 Pro becomes the lightest iPhone Pro yet. Specifically, the iPhone 15 Pro weighs 187 grams, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max weighs 221 grams. For comparison, the duo
As previously reported, Apple is replacing the Lightning port with USB-C on all iPhone 15 models. On the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, the USB-C port provides up to 10 Gbps of bandwidth. This allows you to directly record ProRes video onto an external hard drive for the first time.
A17 Pro Processor
Not only are there external changes, but the iPhone 15 Pro lineup also receives impressive performance upgrades with the new A17 Pro processor from Apple.
The A17 Pro is the world's first 3nm chip, enhancing performance and enabling Apple to increase the number of transistors to 19 billion (compared to 16 billion in the A16 Bionic). It still features two high-performance CPU cores that are 10% faster than the previous generation, accompanied by four energy-efficient cores that are also faster, although Apple hasn't disclosed by how much.

The A17 Bionic is paired with a 6-core GPU using a completely new architecture. According to Apple, it delivers over 20% higher performance and better energy efficiency. It also introduces new graphics features such as grid shading and, finally, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, which Apple claims is the fastest in any smartphone and up to 4 times faster than software-based ray tracing.
Enhanced media encoding and decoding with Apple's first integration of the AV1 hardware decoder for the new iPhone 15 Pro lineup. The Neural Engine still handles machine learning tasks with 16 cores, now doubled in speed, delivering up to 35 trillion operations per second.
On the wireless front, Apple has added Wi-Fi 6E and Thread network connectivity to the new generation of iPhone Pro models, along with the new second-generation U2 Ultra Wideband chip with improved accuracy at longer distances.
Camera Upgrade: 5x Telephoto Lens on iPhone 15 Pro Max
Apple states that with the iPhone 15 Pro, users have additional focal lengths for photography, akin to owning seven dedicated lenses in their pocket, ready for any scenario.
The main camera of the iPhone 15 Pro lineup utilizes a larger sensor than the iPhone 15 and features an aperture of f/1.78. Similar to the iPhone 15, it captures new default 24MP HEIF photos, alongside 48MP in bright light conditions. ProRes is still supported.
This new 24MP mode can utilize different areas of the image sensor to produce three different zoom levels: equivalent to 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm lenses. The 2x zoom crop mode uses the center 12MP for an equivalent focal length of 48mm.

The telephoto camera on the iPhone 15 Pro features an enhanced 12MP sensor, still capable of 3x zoom (or equivalent to 77mm). However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max introduces a new periscope telephoto lens that utilizes fourfold light reflection internally for longer focal lengths: 120mm or 5x optical zoom.
Of course, the new cameras on the iPhone 15 Pro lineup will be supported by new computational photography features to enhance color and sharpness in low-light conditions. A new interesting trick is the camera's ability to recognize humans, dogs, or cats in the frame and capture depth information alongside the standard image, so you can enable portrait mode on that image later in the Photos app if desired.
Later this year, the iPhone 15 Pro will receive a software update enabling Spatial Videos, using both the wide-angle and main cameras to capture immersive videos for viewing on the upcoming Apple Vision Pro.
