Windows provides users with the ability to create Shortcuts on the Desktop for easy and quick access to applications. By default, each Shortcut has a title, which you can customize, but you cannot leave the content of the Shortcut empty. Below, I will guide you through a small trick that helps you remove that content and only display the Shortcut icon on the desktop.
Hide Shortcut Names on Windows Desktop
In this article, I'm using the Computer icon as an example.
Step 1: Right-click on the Computer icon on the Desktop, then select Rename (Image below)
Step 2: Here, you delete the default content of the icon, then press 'Alt + 255' from the keyboard (Image below)
Step 3: You can perform this with all the icons on the Desktop in the same manner.
You will see the difference after removing all the content of those icons (Image below)
