Located approximately 20km from the center of Sa Pa town, visitors must traverse winding and twisting roads over O Quy Ho Pass and Hoang Lien Pass to reach Hoang Lien National Park.

This area extends from Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province, to two communes in Than Uyen district, Lai Chau province.
