2. Hochiminh City University of Fine Arts 2020 Admission Criteria
- Specific regulations on the Vietnamese language examination (weight 1)
Applicants can only be considered for the Vietnamese language subject if they have officially graduated from high school. The university follows one of the three following options:
+ Admission for the Vietnamese language subject is based on the results of the high school graduation exam in Vietnamese language conducted by the Ministry of Education and Training, with scores from 5 and above.
+ Admission for the Vietnamese language subject is based on the academic records of Vietnamese language in grades 10, 11, and 12 for candidates with academic achievements in Vietnamese language from 5 and above (average for 3 years).
+ Candidates are evaluated based on the average score of Vietnamese language in grades 10, 11, 12 at vocational schools, professional colleges without organizing the high school graduation exam in Vietnamese language, with academic achievements in Vietnamese language from 5 and above (average for 3 years). - *For candidates applying for the Fine Arts Pedagogy major, they must have academic achievements in grade 12 rated from good or above, or graduation exam scores from high school from 6.5 and above; if candidates have excellent results in the aptitude test organized by the university (
from 9.0 and above on a 10.0 scale), the minimum average score for admission based on high school performance is 5.0 or above, with specific details according to the content of Circular No. 09/2020/TT-BGDĐT.
- Regulations on the threshold of specialized examination scores:
Candidates in the admitted category must score 5 or above for each subject (not multiplied by the coefficient for drawing or sculpture). Candidates with specialized examination scores below 5 are considered not admitted.

2018 Admission Criteria for Hochiminh City University of Fine Arts witnessed various fluctuations compared to the previous year, based on the results of the recent National High School Graduation Exam. In 2017, Hochiminh City University of Fine Arts admitted students to all 6 majors with the lowest cutoff score at 22.25 points and the highest at 28 points.

In 2018, Hochiminh City University of Fine Arts will admit 200 students for its 6 training majors. In addition to the 2018 National High School Graduation Exam results, the university will conduct additional entrance exams for talent subjects combined with Language Arts. Admission cutoff scores will be announced before August 6, as per the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
