Hội An anticipates the grand opening of its new $15 million outdoor theater.

Mr. Vo Phung, director of the Hoi An Cultural and Sports Center (Quang Nam), has revealed that preparations are in full swing for the 3rd International Choir Competition within the Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013 (taking place from June 19 to 23). Authorities are expediting the construction of a roofed outdoor theater at Hoai River Square, with a total budget exceeding $15 million.

The theater construction is scheduled to be completed by early June to serve the international choir competition along with various cultural activities during this period.

The Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has allocated $100,000 to support the organization of the competition in Hoi An. Currently, 40 choirs from different countries and territories have registered to participate.
