Standing at the Giza Pyramids, one can easily see the thick layer of dusty smog, but the stunning beauty of this place still captivates the actress.
Hong Anh Impressed by Egypt's 'Dusty yet Majestic'

Director and actress Hong Anh enjoys exploring famous destinations around the world. Given the opportunity to travel for work to various places, she often takes the chance to experience the landscapes, cultures, and lifestyles of the local people. Recently, during her trip to Egypt, the iconic actress visited the Pyramids and was mesmerized by the enduring beauty of this place.

“Visiting the Giza Pyramids complex, located 30 minutes by taxi from the capital Cairo, you will be astonished by the ancient wisdom of the Egyptians. Initially, the Great Pyramid of Giza was covered with a layer of white limestone, but in 1303 AD, a devastating earthquake caused that layer to peel off, leaving only a small portion covering the top. Under the afternoon sun, the structure resembles a golden nugget, if the white limestone layer still surrounds it, its image under the sun will sparkle like a giant diamond in the desert,” shared Hong Anh.

This complex is one of the ancient wonders of the world, standing steadfast and surviving for over 4,500 years despite the various natural disasters, worthy of the title: “Everything fears time but time must fear the Pyramids”. In the past, the ancient Egyptians referred to the Pyramids as “I Khept,” meaning “Splendid Light”.

Hong Anh's Impression of Egypt: 'Dusty yet Majestic'

There are numerous mystical stories about the pharaohs and the mummies that intrigue travelers. The Egyptians consider themselves descendants of the Pharaohs - the eternal kings who built magnificent structures, and their legacy is the soul of Egypt, one of the greatest civilizations.

However, modern Egypt is not an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation. A female director shared that the country faces various challenges: currency devaluation, religious conflicts, terrorism, diseases, and severe traffic congestion and pollution in Cairo.

The Nile River, running through the city, is heavily polluted in some areas and littered with garbage. Bottled water is relatively expensive compared to the average income, and there is a significant gap between the rich and the poor. Tourism services have declined, and bargaining is necessary for any purchase.

Nevertheless, Egypt still leaves a lasting impression on Hong Anh. Despite encountering some locals who view tourists merely as ATMs, she also met wonderful people like Hasiam, a guide at the Giza Pyramids, and Houseein Sameh, a cheerful driver. They were warm and hospitable, and the cost of living in the city was quite affordable. Fresh and abundant fruits and ancient structures that surpass human imagination are among the highlights of the visit.

In summary, equip yourself with basic information about Egypt, be adaptable, and approach the country with an open and compassionate mindset due to its stark differences. And thus, I believe you will have a fantastic journey,” shared Hong Anh.
