Hong Kong lifts restrictions on restaurant and bar opening hours
Hong Kong will officially lift restrictions on the opening hours of restaurants, bars, and various other businesses starting from November 3. On the same day, residents are also permitted to remove masks when taking photos at outdoor events, as well as other entertainment and religious venues. Under current rules, restaurants are only allowed to operate until 2 a.m. with a maximum of 12 diners per table.
On October 20, the city government also relaxed restrictions on the number of people allowed to gather in public places from 4 to 12. Bars and nightclubs are allowed to organize music nights and dance events.

Ben Leung Lap-yan, Chairman of the Nightclubs and Bars Association in Hong Kong, told SCMP that he welcomes the decision to lift restrictions on opening hours, adding that business operations of bars and nightclubs in Hong Kong are expected to grow by 20% in the near future.
Announcement regarding the lifting of restrictions was made on October 27 when the city reported 6,062 new Covid-19 cases, the highest since September 19.
