Getting to Na Hang by passenger bus
You have 2 options:
- Take a passenger bus from Hanoi to Na Hang: Currently, Bao Yen bus company operates the route from My Dinh - Na Hang, with a frequency of 2 trips/day.
- Take a passenger bus to Tuyen Quang (bus companies: Bao Yen, Dung Dung, Son Hung, Hong Thinh,...) and then from here, catch local buses to Na Hang town. You can also rent a motorcycle from Tuyen Quang to Na Hang following National Highway 2 direction, at the intersection where it meets TL190, turn right towards Chiem Hoa, continue straight to reach Na Hang.

Traveling to Na Hang by motorcycle or private car
From Hanoi, you can take the route via Vinh Yen straight to National Highway 2 to reach Tuyen Quang city. From here, you can continue along the route mentioned above to Na Hang.
Note: For those traveling by private car, you can take the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, exit at IC9 interchange, then turn back onto National Highway 2 to continue to Na Hang.

Itinerary 2: Hanoi – Ba Be – Song Nang – Na Hang – Hanoi
If you want to explore more of Ba Be Lake, you can follow this itinerary. Note that this itinerary is only suitable for motorcycle adventurers as the boat from Ba Be Lake to Na Hang can only carry motorcycles, not cars.
Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be Lake
Depart from Hanoi and travel about 220km to reach Ba Be Lake, where you can spend a day exploring.
Day 2: Ba Be Lake – Dau Dang Waterfall – Na Hang
From Ba Be Lake, you'll hire a boat twice to reach Na Hang (from Ba Be Lake via Dau Dang Waterfall, then from there, ride a motorcycle to the next boat pier and hire another boat to Na Hang).
Upon arriving in Na Hang, you'll enjoy exploring the area before returning to Tuyen Quang for rest.
Day 3: Tuyen Quang – Hanoi
Depart from Tuyen Quang back to Hanoi (about 150km journey).

Itinerary 3: Hanoi – Na Hang – Ha Giang – Cao Bang – Bac Kan – Hanoi
This is the most extensive itinerary taking you through the entire Northeast region, so you'll need about 6 days and good health to conquer this journey:
Day 1: Hanoi – Na Hang – Thuong Lam
Depart early from Hanoi to Tuyen Quang then head to Na Hang, stop to rent a boat for a leisurely ride on the lake at Na Hang Hydroelectric Plant. Afterward, continue moving up to Thượng Lâm commune and rent a homestay for accommodation.
Day 2: Thượng Lâm - Ha Giang – Quản Bạ – Yên Minh
From Thượng Lâm, take road 185 to Vị Xuyên, then go straight on QL2 to reach Ha Giang. From here, move on to Quản Bạ, Yên Minh, visit the twin mountain of Quản Bạ, and stay overnight in Yên Minh.
Day 3: Yên Minh – Đồng Văn
From Yên Minh, you ascend to Đồng Văn town, enjoy the scenery along the way, and visit the King's Palace, Lung Cu Flagpole; overnight stay in Dong Van Old Quarter.
Day 4: Đồng Văn – Mèo Vạc – Mã Pí Lèng – Bảo Lạc – Ba Bể
You travel from Đồng Văn through Mã Pì Lèng, to Mèo Vạc, then follow Niêm Sơn road to Bảo Lạc, pass Tĩnh Túc and continue on road 212 to Ba Bể. Upon arrival, rent a homestay for accommodation in Ba Bể.
Day 5: Explore Ba Bể
Spend a full day exploring Ba Bể National Park, boating, and enjoying delicious dishes at Ba Bể.
Day 6: Ba Bể – Thái Nguyên – Hà Nội
