Experiencing a large screen alongside apps displaying richer content is a key aspect that I enjoy about using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. Here are some popular apps when viewed on the Z Fold 2, take a look.

Discover with Google Maps:

This is one of the applications that I find most capable of utilizing the large display area on the Z Fold 2. When viewing maps, it's very wide and convenient, making navigation and location search much easier compared to using a regular phone. During navigation, landmarks and nearby locations also appear larger and hence are much easier to see.

Web Browser

The web has the ability to automatically scale according to the screen size. Mainly, the browser needs to be able to stretch for easy use on a large screen. In terms of optimization, I find Samsung Internet to perform much better than Chrome. The functional buttons are located right at the bottom, making navigation easy, whereas with Chrome, you have to reach higher up.

Facebook isn't optimized for Z Fold 2 5G, and many image contents appear somewhat enlarged, which is okay for viewing pictures and videos on Facebook Watch. However, in terms of utilizing the display area, it falls short.

Connect Seamlessly - Facebook Messenger

This app doesn't offer many benefits when used with Z Fold 2. It simply scales out horizontally and vertically, but since our messages are primarily read vertically and each message is short, it doesn't have much impact. The Z Fold 2's screen isn't large enough for Messenger to switch to a tablet interface with the list of people on one side and the content on the other.

Mytour app on Z Fold 2 5G with its large display area functions almost like a website, meaning you'll have a more enjoyable reading experience, with paragraphs displayed better and images larger and clearer. However, when it comes to utilizing the space as effectively as Google Maps does, it falls short.

Watching movies on a large screen is already a step up, and it becomes even more effective when you rotate the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G horizontally. Larger images will satisfy you, whether you're watching a lengthy series on Z Fold 2 or just a short music video on YouTube. However, subtitles appear slightly larger, looking a bit unusual 😁

Gaming Experience

I only play Call of Duty Mobile, so I'll just test this game (actually, I've been quite busy lately and haven't played much). The gameplay fills the entire screen beautifully, similar to playing COD on an iPad. I feel like I can aim, shoot, and control the character more accurately compared to using a regular phone. The content is displayed fullscreen without any cropping.

Photo Capture App

Taking photos on the Z Fold 2 5G is fantastic because the entire screen is used as the viewfinder, allowing you to capture shots freely. The aspect ratio of the photos may be unusual (adjustable), but the photography experience is enjoyable, with everything appearing large and clear. Especially when rotated horizontally, the viewfinder becomes even wider, and I always feel excited every time I lift the Z Fold 2 to take pictures.

General Review

The spacious screen and comfortable reading experience are what I love about the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. This year, Samsung has also gotten rid of the large notch on the first-generation Galaxy Fold, making the screen area used for display more complete and balanced, not to mention the improved display quality. For those who enjoy a tablet-like experience but in a more compact form that easily fits in your pocket, the Z Fold 2 5G is the way to go. For me, the Z Fold 2 5G is also the most distinctive phone currently available if you're seeking a fresh smartphone experience.
