As we know, Google recently updated Maps to version 2.x for iOS, bringing many new features such as improved navigation, Explore, and better support for iPad. Additionally, Google introduced a hidden feature similar to Android Maps, allowing users to save and use maps offline.
1. Activate Offline Maps Feature on iOS 7
Step 1: Launch the Google Maps app, click on the Profile button at the top (if not logged in, sign in to your account).
Step 2: Scroll down to the Offline Maps section and click on the Save map to use offline button. Alternatively, activate this feature directly in the app's Search section. Simply type 'Ok maps' and press Enter to immediately activate the offline map saving feature.:)
Step 3: On the interface, you can now rotate, zoom in, and zoom out to the location you want to save. Then, click on Save this map. Give your map a name and press Save.
2. Review Saved Offline Maps
Open Google Maps, click on the Profile button. Scroll down to the Offline maps section and select View all and manage.
You can click on Save a new offline map to start saving a different map area. Or click on the name of the offline map you saved earlier.

Discovering this feature may not be something everyone needs, but in some cases, it proves to be very useful. Imagine preparing for a journey, worrying about not having 3G or Wi-Fi signal to navigate to the points you need. Save the map of the area you'll be visiting and set off with confidence. This will give you some peace of mind when traveling far.
