1. What is Clipboard History?
Clipboard History is a feature integrated into Windows that can be toggled on/off through System Settings. Its primary purpose is to store all previously copied data for quick retrieval, search, and re-copying. Instead of manually searching for the data to copy again, you can simply open Clipboard History and view them in the list of copied data stored in the system Clipboard.
2. How to Enable Clipboard History Feature
On Windows 10, the Clipboard History feature is disabled by default, and you need to activate it manually in Settings.
Step 1: Press Windows + I to open Settings, then select System to configure the system.
3. How to Utilize Clipboard History on Windows 10
On Windows 10, anywhere, with any open application on your computer, you can access Clipboard History using the shortcut Windows + V. Upon invoking Clipboard History, you'll encounter a compilation of various content that you've previously copied.
The content arrangement is based on time, meaning the most recently copied items will be at the top of your list.
To copy content from Clipboard, you don't need to press the Ctrl + V combination; instead, simply double-click on the content and you're done.
When you click on the extension, you'll find the following content:
- Delete: Erase the data of the selected content
- Pin: Pin the selected content (they are always placed at the top of the list)
- Clear All: Delete all data on the Clipboard
4. How to Disable Clipboard History and Delete Its Content
To disable Clipboard History, simply repeat the steps from part 1 and switch to Off. That's it.
To delete all data from Clipboard History, select Clear within the Clipboard settings at Settings.
