A straightforward guide to activate Windows Attribute Editor
This tutorial demonstrates how to activate the Attribute Editor tab in Active Directory. To show the Attribute Editor tab, you need to enable Advanced Features in the Active Directory Users and Computers console.
Steps

Enter Active Directory Users and Computers. This action will bring up Active Directory Users and Computers from the Start menu.

Click Active Directory Users and Computers. Look for the program with an icon resembling a yellow pages phone book. This will open Active Directory Users and Computers.
- If you don't have Active Directory Users and Computers installed on your computer, reach out to your system administrator.

Click View. This option is located in the menu bar at the top of Active Directory. Click on 'View' to reveal the drop-down menu.

Tick Advanced Features. If you don't see a checkmark next to 'Advanced Features', click on it to enable Advanced Features.

Right-click on the user-object you wish to modify. User-objects are listed in the main window of Active Directory. Right-clicking on a user-object will bring up a pop-up menu next to the object.

Click Properties. This action will open the properties window of the user-object.

Click Attribute Editor. With Advanced Features enabled, the Attribute Editor tab will appear at the top of the user-object properties window.
