Hibernate mode allows you to save your entire computer workspace onto the hard drive before shutting down. When you turn on your computer again, it will boot up and restore the previous workspace from RAM, continuing from where you left off. Hibernate mode is suitable when you want to pause your work without losing your progress.
To activate Hibernate mode, you can follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open cmd application as administrator.
1. Select Start, type cmd in the search bar.

2. Right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator.

Step 2: Activate Hibernate mode on Windows 7.
Enter the command powercfg -h on into the cmd.exe window and press Enter.

Step 3: Disable Hybrid sleep.
1. Select Start -> Control Panel -> Power Options.

2. Then choose Change when the computer sleeps.

3. Select Change advanced power settings.

4. In the Advanced settings tab, under the Power Options dialog box, set both values under Hibernate after to 0.

5. Under Allow hybrid sleep, select both values to Off.

6. After setting the values, select Apply and then OK.
Congratulations! You have successfully activated Hibernate mode on your computer. When you select Start Menu, you will see the Hibernate option. You can choose Hibernate mode if you want to turn off your computer while still preserving its current working state.
