II. How to Activate Subtitles in Google Meet

Currently, you can enable subtitles in Google Hangouts Meet from your computer or phone. Here's how:
 

1. How to enable subtitles on Google Meet for mobile:

Step 1: Open the Google Meet app on your phone, log in to your personal account, and join any meeting.
Step 2: In the Google Meet meeting interface, tap on the three dots at the bottom right of the screen and select 'show subtitles'.

Step 3: Google Meet displays subtitles by default in English. If you want to change the display language, you can click on 'English' and choose the language you want to use in the meeting, then press 'save'
Step 4: If you want to turn off subtitles in the meeting, follow the instructions in step 2 and select 'hide subtitles'.

2. How to activate subtitles on Google Meet for desktop:

Step 1: Launch Google Meet from the web browser on your computer, create a new meeting, or join any meeting. Click quick access Here.
Step 2: In the Google Meet meeting interface, click on the icon (...) next to the end call button and select 'subtitles'.

Step 3: Choose the subtitles you want to use in the meeting, then press 'apply'.

Step 4: The screen displays subtitles in the selected language.

Note: Currently, you can only utilize the Google Meet subtitle feature when meeting the following conditions.

- Subtitles are toggled on or off individually by each participant in Google Meet and cannot be activated for others.
- Google Meet users in the Asia-Pacific and European regions can enable Google Meet subtitles in languages such as English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese.
- Limited to the Chrome browser.
