Do you want to add text to images without installing any software on your computer? It's simple! Windows operating system has the Paint program integrated, allowing you to quickly write text on images.
Below are the steps to help you write text on images using Paint program.
Step 1: Open the image you want to write text on in the Paint program.
To start, click on the Start Menu and type Paint in the Search Programs and Files box, then select Paint to open the Paint program (or you can choose Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint).
On the Paint program interface, select the Paint icon -> Open (shortcut Ctrl + O) and choose the image you want to add text to open it in Paint.
You can also quickly open images in Paint by selecting the image you want to add text to and right-clicking. In the right-click menu, choose Open With -> Paint.
Then the image you select will be displayed in the Paint program.
Step 2: Write text on the selected image.
On the Paint toolbar, select the Home tab and choose the A icon in the Tools section.
Next, left-click on the position where you want to write text on the image (or you can press and hold the mouse at the starting point and drag to the end point to select the text area).
A bordered frame with a dashed line will appear, left-click on that frame and write the text you want to insert into the image.
Step 3: Edit the text written on the image.
Select (highlight) the text segment you want to edit. On the Paint toolbar, the Text tab of Text Tools appears. You can edit text in various sections of this tab.
- Font: Edit font, font size, font style.
- Background: Choose a background for the text (Opaque: , Transparent: ).
- Colors: Select colors for the text (click Edit colors to choose more colors).
You can expand the text area to prevent text loss by moving the mouse cursor to one of the eight square buttons in the text frame to make the mouse pointer appear as a two-way arrow, then press and hold and drag to expand the text area to fit.
Additionally, you can move the text to another position in the image by moving the mouse cursor to the text box to make the cursor appear as shown below, then press and hold the mouse and move it to the desired position.
Step 4: Save the image with the inserted text.
On the Paint interface, select the Paint icon, where you have two options:
- Save: overwrite the original image.
- Save as: save as a new image, keeping the original image intact.
If you choose Save as, the Save As interface will appear, where you select the saving location, name the image, choose the image format, then press Save to save the image.
