The Tet altar consists of many elements that need attention, the most important of which are decorations and offerings, as follows:
Decorations
- 2 oil lamps or two scented candles: The lamps symbolize the moon and the sun and should be placed on either side of the altar.
- 2 vases of flowers: 1 for incense, one for the golden and silver trees, or you can use fresh flowers to decorate the altar, but not all types of flowers can be displayed on Tet day. You can refer to the flowers to display on the altar to bring prosperity and luck to your family.
Offerings
- 3 cups of wine, 3 cups of water
- Incense, choose scented incense sticks
- Flowers, you can use peach blossoms or apricot blossoms to arrange the altar or chrysanthemums, except for flowers in the prohibited category. Do not use fake flowers to burn incense.

Usually, the offering tray is prepared on the evening of the 30th or the 1st day of the lunar new year.
