How to cancel Maritime Bank's SMS Banking service
1. Understanding SMS Banking MSB
SMS Banking MSB is one of the electronic banking services offered by Maritime Bank to provide customers with various conveniences using just a phone without requiring network connectivity or a smartphone. Specifically, it allows:
- Depositing money into prepaid accounts.
- Inquiry of bank exchange rates, interest rates.
- Payment of utility bills such as water, electricity.
- Access to the five most recent transactions.
- Updating, checking account balance.
- MSB notification updates.
- Checking MSB card number.
Although registering for SMS Banking MSB is free, you will incur a monthly SMS Banking MSB fee of 9,900 dong. Additionally, every inquiry made will also incur a fee, approximately 500 dong per message.
2. Cancelling SMS Banking MSB
Branches and Bank MSB Transaction Offices
Previously, you signed up for MSB SMS Banking but now, due to your current or intended use of MSB Internet Banking or for any other reason, you wish to cancel Maritime Bank's SMS Banking service.
Despite integrating advanced technology into their application, MSB Bank has yet to implement support for cancelling or registering SMS Banking and other services via text messages. Therefore, the only way to cancel Maritime Bank's SMS Banking is by visiting a MSB Bank branch or transaction office.
- Step 1: Bring your ID card to a MSB Bank branch/transaction office.
- Step 2: Present your documents and request to cancel the SMS Banking service with a bank staff member.
- Step 3: At this point, the staff will verify your information, confirm your ownership, and provide you with the SMS Banking cancellation form.
- Step 4: Fill out the form and return it to the staff. After a few minutes, the staff will cancel SMS Banking on the system for you.
