Step 1: To change your Macbook password, ensure you have Admin privileges and access the Macbook interface. Move the mouse cursor to the upper-left corner, click on the Apple icon, and select System Preferences as shown below.
Step 2: In the System Preferences dialog, locate and click on the User & Groups section.
Step 3: In the next interface, if you want to change the Macbook password for the current account, click on the Change Password option.
A small dialog box appears; enter all the required information in the fields:
Old password: Current password
New password: New password
Verify: Confirm the new password
Password hint: Information to help you remember your password
Step 4: Additionally, if you want to change the password for another user, right in the account management interface, click on the padlock icon as shown below.
Enter the current Admin account password when the small dialog appears and click Unlock.
