Saving that history is both beneficial and harmful because it helps us reopen the websites we want to revisit but it also compromises your privacy if someone is curious to see what you've done and viewed. So, to protect your privacy, the solution is to clear your web browsing history right in your browser.
How to Clear Web Search History on Chrome, Firefox
1. For Firefox Browser
Step 1: On the browser toolbar (If you don't see it, press the Alt key), choose History, then select Clear Recent History:
Step 2: The Clear all history dialog appears, choose everything, then select clear now
2. For Chrome Browser
Step 1: Go to Customize and control Google Chrome, then select History
Step 2: Select to erase browsing data as shown in the image:
Step 3: The window to delete browsing data appears, in the section to delete items from, choose 'everything', check the content you want to delete, then select delete browsing data.
