There are 2 methods to color cells and backgrounds in Word tables.
1. Utilize Pre-existing Formats
- To quickly apply cell and background colors to your table, you can utilize the various Table Styles provided by Office Word: Click on the table you want to color -> go to the Design tab -> click on the Table Styles icon to select from the available color formatting options for your table:

2. Choose Custom Color Options
To color the background of cells or entire cells in the table, follow these steps:
- Choose the cells in the table that you want to color the background of -> go to the Home tab -> click on the Shading tool icon -> select the desired color:

- In case you want to select a different color, click on More Color:

- The Color dialogue box will appear, allowing you to select the color you want to apply -> click OK:

- Alternatively, you can choose the color you want to apply in the Custom section -> click OK:
