How to Create Spiderman Text Effect in Photoshop
Preparation:
- Make sure you have the correct version of Photoshop as indicated in the guide, download Photoshop from here.
- Apply the font used in this guide (optional), download it HERE.

Step 1: First, let's create a completely new file with basic dimensions of 850x500. Just follow the instructions, and afterwards, you can develop on your own.
Step 2: After creating a new file, double-click on this first layer to unlock it > then right-click and choose Blending Options.
Step 3: In the Gradient Overlay section, adjust the parameters as shown in the image and click on the indicated positions.
Step 4: Here, you will sequentially open 2 PAT files that we've linked above. Both of these files will be used to create Spiderman text in Photoshop.
Step 5: Next, in the Pattern Overlay section, choose Pattern Darkwall and configure the settings as shown in the image.
Step 6: Then, create custom text of your choice, adjust the font to Aero Matics and select Bold Italic with a size of 100 - 200 depending on the length.
Step 7: Hover over Blending Options for the Text Layer, in the Pattern Overlay section, select the PAT file Spidy and configure the settings as shown.
If you've already done this step before, you can skip it.
Step 8: Continue with this Pattern Overlay section, adjust the Scale to 25%.
Step 9: Move to Gradient Overlay, set Multiply, Opacity 14%, Linear style, Angle -90 degrees, and remember to check the Dither box.
Step 10: In Color Overlay, choose Multiply and set the color to red #e10505, then increase Opacity to 100%.
Step 11: Adjust the Satin section with Linear Dodge (Add) blend mode, color #ffeb0d, opacity 100%, angle 0 degrees, distance 4px, size 16px, and uncheck Invert.
Scroll down to the Outer Glow section, select Blend mode Normal, Opacity 100%, spread 0%, size 8px, range 55%, and Jitter: 0%.
In the color section of the Gradient, create 3 color stops with the following values:
- The first color stop has the color code #111111 at position 21%.
- The second color stop has the color code #177ece at position 48%.
- The third color stop has the color code #9adaff at position 73%.
Step 12: Move to Inner Shadow, adjust Blend Mode to Linear Burn with color #010101, opacity 30%, angle -90 degrees, distance 6px, choke 0%, size 0px, and uncheck use Global Light.
Step 13: In Inner Glow, set mode to Screen, Opacity 7%, color to #ffed0d, technique softer, source Edge, choke 0%, and size 5px.
Step 14: Next is the Choke section with Size 2px, position outside, blend mode normal with opacity 100%, fill type Gradient, style Linear, Angle 90 degrees, and check the Dither box.
However, we need to go to the Gradient section and create 5 color stops as follows:
- The first color stop has the color code #003669 at position 12%.
- The second color stop has the color code #bcebff at position 22%.
- The third color stop has the color code #003669 at position 52%.
- The fourth color stop has the color code #bcebff at position 83%.
- The fifth color stop has the color code #003669 at position 96%.
Step 15: At the top in the Bevel & Emboss section, choose inner bevel style, smooth technique, set depth to 100%, direction up, size 18px, altitude 30 degrees, highlight mode linear dodge (add) with color #ffc000 and opacity 25%.
Underneath, select linear burn for shadow mode with color #0a2a40 and opacity 20%, and don't forget to uncheck Use Global Light with angle 110 degrees and altitude 30 degrees.
Step 16: In Texture, choose Spidy PAT to scale 25% and set depth to 120%.
Step 17: Finally, in Drop Shadow, choose blend mode normal with color #001e2d, opacity 100%, distance 3px, spread 100%, size 11 px, and uncheck Use Global Light with angle 120 degrees.
After completing everything, you have successfully created Spiderman text in Photoshop with the following result:
