Step 1: To create a computer account on Windows 8.1 and 8, first access the Start menu by pressing the Windows key on the keyboard or clicking on the icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Then, simply type manage account, and Windows will automatically search for it. When it appears, click on Add, delete, and manage other. Doing so will open the Settings
Step 2: Click on the Add an account button as shown in the image below.
Step 3: You will be prompted to choose how the new user account logs into the computer. Windows 8 and 8.1 give you the option to connect with a Microsoft account, meaning users will sign in with their email address. For the purpose of this article, we will create a non-Microsoft account by selecting the option at the bottom of the screen that says Sign in without a Microsoft account. However, you can create a Microsoft account if you prefer.
Step 4: If you choose to create a Local account, you will be prompted to confirm your choice on the following screen - click on Local account.
Step 5: Enter the username, password, and optional password hint on the next screen and click Next. Then press Finish on the final screen to complete the process of creating a Windows 8.1 and 8 computer account. You will be taken back to the PC Settings screen along with the list of accounts used on that computer.
If you click on a new user and see the Edit button, you'll notice that the new user has been created as Standard by default. You can modify this setting by selecting Administrator from the dropdown menu. You can change the account type of the current user anytime by navigating back to this screen and making the appropriate changes.
Note: You may see a third option on the dropdown menu called Child. These accounts are essentially similar to Standard accounts but allow you to apply parental controls such as time restrictions and limitations on internet usage.
3. Creating computer accounts on Windows 7

4. Crafting Computer Accounts on Windows XP
In Step 1: Navigate from the user interface, press the Windows key on your keyboard or click on the Start button at the bottom left corner of the screen. Here, you will see a small picture with a name next to it. Click on this small picture to proceed to the next step.

Once you've decided on a name, click the Next button.
Step 5: You can choose the type of user you want to create, either limited or administrator, on this interface.
Limited users cannot create or change user accounts and may need an administrator to install programs or access certain files. This account type is often beneficial when setting up for children.
If you choose an Administrator user, they will have access to everything, including the ability to install programs, add, delete, or modify users.
Once you've made your user type selection, click on Create Account. You will be redirected to the User Accounts screen we saw earlier. You can observe the newly added user alongside other existing accounts.
