Editing and formatting text in Word inevitably leads to situations where you want to eliminate certain pages to ensure the smoothness and consistency of your document.
Deleting a page in Word is essentially the same as removing a blank page. Simply execute an additional step of selecting the entire page before pressing the Delete key. The steps outlined below are applicable to Word 2016, with similar procedures for other versions as well.
GUIDE TO DELETING A PAGE IN WORD
1. Deleting a Blank Page in Word
You can choose from one of the three methods below:
Method 1: Open the Word file you want to remove the blank page from. If the blank page appears at the end of the document, simply place your cursor at the end of the page with text and press the Delete key to successfully delete it.
Method 2: For cases where blank pages appear interspersed with pages containing content, position your mouse cursor at the beginning of the page following the blank one, then press Backspace. The result will be the deletion of your blank page.
Method 3: On the Word interface, press the Ctrl + Shift + 8 key combination.
You'll notice segment marks appear, indicating surplus segments within the blank page. Seeing this helps you identify redundant segments within the blank page. At this point, simply select (highlight) all the segment marks and press the Delete key to remove them.
If you encounter a blank page with a Page Break or Section Break, it's likely caused by your insertion of such breaks. To address this, position your mouse cursor before the break as shown below and press the Delete key to remove all breaks successfully.
After deleting the page, to hide the segment marks, simply press the Ctrl + Shift + 8 shortcut again.
2. Deleting a page containing text content
Deleting a page containing content in Word is straightforward. Just select (highlight) all the content on the page you want to delete and press the Backspace or Delete key.
Deleting a page in Word is incredibly simple. You can remove blank pages using one of the three methods explained earlier, or if you want to delete a page with content, simply select the entire page and press the Delete or Backspace key.
