If you no longer wish to use Google+ and want to delete your profile without affecting your Gmail account, but you're unsure how to do it, Mytour will guide you on how to delete your Google+ account without affecting Gmail.
Delete Google+ Account Without Deleting Gmail
Despite being a social networking site, Google+ hasn't received as much user attention as Facebook in recent years. If you no longer wish to use it, you can delete your Google+ profile without deleting Gmail.
Before starting the deletion process, it's important to know that deleting your Google+ account also means the following items will be deleted:
- All connections you've made.
- All +1s you've given.
- All published posts, comments, and collections.
- All chat content in Hangouts, Google Talk, and Gmail.
Additionally, you won't be able to use the Google Plus Share button on any website, and all app connections will be disabled. Therefore, you can backup your data on Google+ before deleting your Google+ account without deleting Gmail.
To begin, log in to your Google Plus account. Once you've entered your login details, locate the Settings section on the left sidebar, then click on it.
Alternatively, you can directly access the page by clicking HERE.
After opening the Settings window, scroll down and look for the option named DELETE YOUR Google+ PROFILE.
This option will open in a separate tab on your browser, where you'll need to enter your password again.
Next, a dialog box will appear on the screen with 2 checkboxes, asking you to confirm that you understand all the terms and conditions. Check these boxes and then click the Delete button.
You will be redirected to another page, where you select the reason why you want to delete your Google+ profile. Choose a reason, and your Google+ account will be deleted.
Above are the steps to delete your Google+ account without deleting Gmail. If you wish to join Google+ again, simply open the Google+ page, then click on the Join Google+ button. While you can't retrieve all previous chats and connections, you can start using your account again.
If you accidentally delete your Gmail account, create another Gmail account to continue using Google services. Creating a Gmail account is simple and won't take much of your time.
