Your computer stores a wealth of information you access, from search history to recent software activities... which could potentially be exploited by strangers with malicious intent if they possess knowledge of computers and covert motives. 1. Deleting Search History in the Search Section (Applies to Windows 8/8.1/10)
Step 1: Click on the search box (1) and menu Search (2).

Step 2: Click on the Recent searches (1) section => Clear search history (2).

After clearing your search history, clicking on the Search section will no longer display the previously searched content.

2. Deleting Search History in the Registry (Applies to Windows 7/8/8.1/10)
Normally, your search history is stored when you click on the Search box and display previous results as shown below.

To clear your search history, follow these steps.
Step 1: Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog. Then, search for regedit (1) => OK (2).

Step 2: Access the Registry with the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\WordWheelQuery.
You will now see a series of keys in binary format. To check a key, right-click on it (1) => Modify...(2).

Afterward, you'll spot the keyword you entered in the search bar. As depicted below, we can see the keyword 'work' that I searched for in the first image.

Step 3: To remove this search term, simply right-click on the keyword (1) => Delete (2).

Next, hit Yes to confirm deleting this search term.

Step 4: To clear your entire search history, right-click on WordWheelQuery (1) => Delete (2).

Step 5: Afterwards, return to the search section and verify if the keywords you searched for are no longer present, indicating success.

3. Clearing Browsing History on Web Browsers
