I. Disable Zalo notifications on computer
1. Turn off Zalo notifications for all messages
If you wish to receive notifications for all messages, follow the steps below.
Step 1: First, open the Zalo app on PC, on the main interface, click on the Settings icon in the bottom left corner.
Step 2: Select Settings in the menu that appears.
Step 3: Switch to the Notifications tab. Then choose Turn off under Show notifications and Notification sound.
Step 4: Press X to close the window.
By doing so, you have disabled all notifications for new Zalo messages. However, this method may sometimes prevent you from reading important messages from key contacts.
If you only want to disable notifications for certain individuals, follow the method below.
II. Disable notifications for specific individuals on Zalo
Step 1: Hover over the person you want to disable notifications for, then click on the three-dot icon that appears.
Step 2: Select Turn off notifications. Here, you have options for the duration of the mute including:
- Mute for 1 hour
- Mute for 4 hours
- Until 8:00 AM
- Until manually turned back on
Choose the mute duration according to your preference. After that, you will no longer receive notifications when this person sends messages.
To instantly re-enable notifications, simply click on the three dots >> Enable notifications.
III. Disable Zalo notifications on your phone

1. Disable notifications for all messages
Step 1: Open the Zalo app, switch to the Profile tab, then tap on the Settings icon at the top right corner of the screen. From the menu that appears, select Notifications.
Step 2: Tap on the slider on the New Message Alerts line to switch it to Off status.
When prompted, select Turn Off Notifications.
2. Disable notifications for specific users
Step 1: In the Messages tab, swipe left on the message for which you want to disable notifications, then select Disable notifications.
Step 2: Choose the duration for which you want to disable notifications, including:
- Within 1 hour
- Within 4 hours
- Until 8 AM
- Until manually turned back on.
