Method 1: Split Columns First, Write Content Later
Open Word 2007, select Page Layout --> Columns from the toolbar.
Select the number of columns you want to divide. You can either use preset column formats or customize the number of columns you wish to create by clicking More Columns...
Enter the number of columns in the Number of columns section. Here, you can customize the size of each column and preview the columns in Preview.
--> click OK to save the settings
Method 2: Compose text, split columns afterwards
Open an existing Word document, select all text by using the Ctrl + A keyboard shortcut.
Choose Page Layout on the toolbar --> follow the same steps as method 1 to set the number of columns.
This is the text after splitting into 2 columns, you can adjust the font size to fit the column as desired.
