2. How to Downgrade iOS 14.2 to Lower Version for iPhone, iPad
Follow the steps below to downgrade iOS 14.2 to iOS 14.1:
Step 1: Disable Find My iPhone feature
As part of the iOS 14.2 downgrade process, the first step you need to take is to disable the Find My iPhone feature on your iOS device to avoid any potential errors or issues that may occur during the process.
To do this, first open the Settings app => find and tap on your username at the top of the screen, select Find My => toggle off the switch next to Find My iPhone to disable the feature.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password to complete the process.
Step 2: Download the iOS 14.1 IPSW firmware file for your device
To downgrade to a lower iOS version, specifically in this case iOS 14.1, you need to download the iOS 14.1 IPSW firmware file for your specific device.

Step 3: Connect iPhone to Computer

On Mac, press and hold the Option key, then click on Check for Update or Restore iPhone .
On Windows computer, press and hold the Shift key, then click on one of the options displayed.
- Verify Update : Opt for this choice to downgrade from iOS 14.2 to iOS 14.1 without data loss.
- Restore iPhone : This option will completely erase all data on the iPhone, but you can utilize a backup to restore the device.
Next, browse the IPSW file you previously downloaded and click Open. Similarly, a notification will appear on the screen asking to install iOS 14.1 on your iPhone.
Click Restore or Update to proceed. During the installation process, you will be prompted to enter your iPhone passcode. Upon completion of the process, a welcome window for iOS 14.1 will be displayed on the screen.
Step 8: Restore iPhone from Backup
