Guide to Drawing Arrows in Word 2019
Below, we'll use Word 2019 to demonstrate how to draw arrows in Word using the primary tool, Shapes.
Step 1: In the Word document editing window, go to the Insert menu -> select Shapes -> then choose the type of arrow to insert in Word that you want to draw. Usually, you'll go to Lines to select the arrow shape you want to draw.
Step 2: Click at the location where you want to draw, then click and drag the mouse in the direction you want to draw, and the arrow shape will appear.
After completing the drawing, if you want to change the arrow's length -> click on the arrow to reveal two small circles at each end -> Simply click on these small circles and drag the mouse to adjust the length as desired.
Step 3: To change the color of the drawn arrow -> select the arrow -> go to the Format menu -> choose Shapes Outline -> Then choose the color you want to change to.
Step 4: To adjust the width of the arrow, select Format ->Shapes Outline -> select Weight -> then choose the size you want to change.
If you want to apply effects to the drawn arrow, go to the Format menu ->Shapes Effects -> choose the effect you want, for example, let's choose the shadow effect.
Additionally, you can choose to draw curved arrows, swirling arrows... if desired in the Block Arrows section:
