Here's a guide on how to edit a Facebook post, delete, and restore it on both web and mobile devices.
Nobody's perfect, and it's quite challenging to avoid spelling, grammar errors, or misunderstandings in our Facebook posts that we realize shouldn't be made public. When that happens, you'll want to access and fix the issue by either modifying or completely deleting the post. Fortunately, it's actually quite easy if you know how.
On the Web
- In the post you want to edit, click on the three dots located at the top right of your post.
- Click Edit post if you want to make changes; make your edits, then click Save.
- Click Move to Trash if you want to delete, then click Move.

Note: When you 'delete' a post, it will be moved to the trash, where it will ultimately be deleted after 30 days. If you want to restore or delete immediately, follow these steps:
- Click on your profile icon at the top right corner.
- Click Settings & Privacy > Activity Log.
- In the left column, scroll down and select Trash.
- Find the post and click on its checkbox. Click Restore to restore it to your timeline or Delete to permanently delete.
- In the pop-up window of results, click Restore or Delete.

On Mobile Devices
- Tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the post.
- Choose Edit post if you want to make changes; make your edits, then tap Save.
- Select Move to Trash if you want to delete, then tap Move.

The process of restoring or permanently deleting a post is similar to on the web.
- On your timeline, press on your profile page at the top left corner.
- Tap on the three dots on the right side of your personal page edit.
- In your personal page settings, select Activity Log > Trash.
- Choose the checkbox of the post you want to restore or delete.

- To restore the post, press Restore at the bottom of the screen. To permanently delete, press the three dots at the bottom right and select Delete.
