This tutorial will guide you through the process of redirecting incoming calls to a different phone number. The steps may differ based on your phone service provider, device, and location.
Instructions
For iPhone Users

- This method redirects all incoming calls to another phone number. If you prefer to forward calls selectively (e.g., when you're on another call or unavailable), refer to the final step for guidance.

Find and tap Phone. Look for it in the middle of the menu.

Tap Call Forwarding. You'll find it near the bottom of the “CALLS” section.

- If you don’t see a switch or encounter a perpetually-spinning wheel, reach out to your mobile carrier to activate call forwarding.

Tap Forward To. The keypad will pop up.

Input the forwarding phone number. This will be the number where your incoming calls will be forwarded.

Tap < Call Forwarding. It’s located at the top-left corner. This saves your changes and adds a new icon to the status bar at the top of the screen. A tiny icon of a phone receiver with a right-pointing arrow will appear in the bar while your calls are forwarded.
- To deactivate call forwarding, return to the Call Forwarding screen and toggle off the switch.

Configure call forwarding for specific situations. Only proceed with this step if you wish to forward calls selectively (e.g., when you're unreachable). Since the Phone app lacks options for specifying these scenarios, you'll need to dial a code followed by the phone number:
-
Forward if unanswered: **61*1+PhoneNumber#
- To deactivate, dial ##61#
-
Forward if unreachable: **62*1+PhoneNumber#
- To deactivate, dial ##62#
-
Forward if engaged: **67*1+PhoneNumber#
- To deactivate, dial ##67#
Android

Launch the Phone app. This is the application you utilize for making phone calls.
- Menu names may vary across different Android versions, so if you can't follow these instructions precisely, explore different menus until you locate the Call Forwarding option.
- Some carriers may not support call forwarding. If your phone was bought from such a carrier, you might not find a Call Forwarding menu (or its options may be disabled).

Touch the menu icon. The icon typically resembles three lines (≡) or three dots (⁝ or ⋯).

Touch Settings. If you can't locate this option, it might be situated in a different menu.

Tap More settings or Calls. This section may alternatively be labeled Call Settings.

Tap Call Forwarding. A list of forwarding options will display.
- If your carrier doesn’t support call forwarding, you may not see this menu at all.

Choose which calls to forward. Select Always forward to forward all incoming calls to the designated number, or choose the option that best suits your situation (e.g., Forward when busy).

Input the forwarding phone number. This is the number to which your incoming calls will be redirected.

Tap TURN ON. All incoming calls will now be redirected to the chosen number.
- To deactivate call forwarding, return to this menu and tap TURN OFF.
Landline (North America)

Pick up your landline phone. Wait for the dial tone.
- Some phone providers require additional subscription for call forwarding/diversion. This method is effective only if your service includes call forwarding.

Dial the call diversion code. After a brief pause (or three quick dial tones), you’ll hear the steady dial tone once more. The code you’ll dial depends on your call forwarding preference:
- Forward all incoming calls: *72
- Forward when unanswered: *92
- Forward when busy/on another call: *90

Dial the forwarding phone number. This is the number where your incoming calls will be sent to.

Await confirmation. Confirmation can happen in one of two ways:
- If you receive a confirmation message, you're all set.
- If you hear ringing through the receiver, it means your provider will confirm the forwarding once another party answers the call.

Turn off call forwarding when necessary. If you choose not to forward calls, dial one of the following codes:
- Stop forwarding all calls: *73
- Stop forwarding when unanswered: *93
- Stop forwarding when busy: *91
Landline (Europe and Australia)

Pick up your landline phone. Wait for the dial tone.
- Some phone providers may require you to subscribe to call forwarding/diversion at an additional cost. This method will only function if your service supports call diversion.

Dial the call diversion code, followed by the forwarding phone number. The call diversion code varies by service provider.
-
BT, SkyTalk, TalkTalk, and others
- Divert all calls: *21*(phone number to forward to).
- Divert when busy: *67*(phone number to forward to).
- Divert when you don’t answer: *67*(phone number to forward to).
-
Virgin Media and others
- Divert all calls: *70*(phone number to forward to).
- Divert when busy: *76*(phone number to forward to).
- Divert when you don’t answer: *77*(phone number to forward to).

Press the # (hash) key. Incoming calls will now be redirected to the specified phone number.

Disable call redirection. If you wish to stop diverting calls, simply lift the receiver and dial #(the diversion code)#.
