To prevent others from snooping on Messenger messages on a computer browser, users typically need to equip additional hardware such as anti-spying screen protectors. Despite providing noticeable effectiveness, users still find it difficult to trust that their chat content cannot be snooped on.
Understanding this, today Mytour will share with you another method to prevent others from viewing, blocking peeking at Messenger messages, further enhancing security with the Protect message tool.
How to block peeking at Messenger messages
First, users need to download Protect message to their device and proceed with the installation. Protect message is an Extension that operates on the Chrome browser platform and is available for free in the Google app store. Alternatively, you can click the link to quickly download the extension.
- Download the Protect message extension here:
After successfully installing the Protect message extension on the browser, left-click on the Protect message extension icon on the menu bar. Here, you slide the toggle switch to the right under Turn on extension to activate it.
In the Effect section, Protect message offers users 2 installation options.
- Blur: Blurs the displayed content.
- Flip mirror: Reverses the display orientation of the content.
Once activated, Protect message will automatically apply one of these 2 effects on Messenger. To view message content, simply hover over the conversation window. When hovering out of the conversation window, the message will either be flipped or blurred again.
Additionally, users can click on Component options to select where to apply the effects on the chat window.
- Avatar: Applies the effect on the avatar.
- Name: Applies the effect on the name of the conversation partner.
- Message: Applies the effect on the message content.
- Other: Applies the effect on other details.
With the Protect message tool, your message content will always be securely hidden from prying eyes and only displayed for you to read when necessary. Additionally, you can learn more about viewing deleted messages on Messenger here.
