Create an enriching aquatic environment suitable for lizards and amphibians, free from messy and unhealthy substrates. Maximize surface area to facilitate running activities.
Prepare
Procure a spacious fish tank (larger is preferable), several pieces of slate (approximately 5 inches long and 1/2 inches thick), and two large tubes of aquarium sealant.
Mark
Position the tank horizontally with the top facing towards you and affix pieces of slate along the interior of the tank on the designated line. Ensure each piece is aligned and spaced appropriately to allow lizards to move between them easily while preventing them from being too close together, enabling the lizard to exit the water. The slate will serve as a shoreline.
Allow the sealant to dry completely before attaching additional slates to the remaining three sides of the tank.
Once the adhesive has dried, reinforce the bond between the glass and the rock using more sealant.
Once the adhesive has dried and the tank is ready for fish, fill it with water up to the level of the primary slates.
Initiate the cycling process for the tank. This step is crucial for ensuring the health of the fish.
