Method to Find Lost or Missing AirPods Pro
Method 1: Using the Find My App
Find My is a new feature in iOS 13, essentially functioning similarly to Find My iPhone. However, Find My can locate user devices even when offline, without network connectivity.
To locate lost or missing AirPods Pro using the Find My app, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Start by opening the Find My app on your iOS device (iPhone, iPad) or Mac.
You will then be prompted to sign in to your iCloud account. Make sure to sign in with the iCloud account used on the iPhone paired with the AirPods Pro.
Step 2: Next, from the list of devices, locate and select your AirPods Pro. The last known location where the Bluetooth earphones were connected to Apple devices will be displayed on the map.
Step 3: The green dot icon next to AirPods Pro indicates that the device has been located and is online.
Press the Play Sound button to emit sound from your AirPods, making it easier to locate your misplaced device. This sound will play for 2 minutes before automatically turning off.
In the event of losing both earbuds, you can use the Find My app to locate each earbud individually and place them back into the charging case. Then, repeat the steps to find the remaining earbud.
Option 2: Locating Lost or Missing AirPods Pro Offline
Suppose if AirPods Pro run out of battery, are offline, or are placed in the charging case, the steps to locate the device will be a bit more challenging.
Step 1: Open the Find My app on your iPhone and select AirPods Pro from the list of devices.
Step 2: Since AirPods Pro are offline, you'll see a gray dot icon next to the device, and the last known location of the device will still be displayed on the screen. Based on this clue, you can try manually searching for your lost AirPods Pro.
Additionally, since the device is offline, you won't be able to use the option to play sound. The screen will display a Sound Pending notification.
