YouTube is a widely popular social platform catering to all age groups, offering moments of entertainment after long hours of work and study. However, due to its servers located overseas, accessing YouTube may sometimes pose challenges. Today, Tech Tips will guide you through troubleshooting methods for resolving YouTube access issues.

Reset Network Connection
Network connectivity often serves as a major culprit for YouTube access issues, caused by bandwidth congestion or connectivity issues with the service provider affecting the access process. Reconnecting to the Internet helps restore access by re-establishing connection with the service provider's network and clearing outdated network caches. Resetting the network on your computer is a swift process. Here's how you can do it:
Step 1: Click on the computer icon on the Taskbar and select Network & Internet Settings.

Step 2: Next, in the newly opened window, choose Network and Sharing Centre.

Step 3: Then, in the Network and Sharing Centre window, select Change adapter settings.

Step 4: At this point, you need to identify the main Internet connection, usually named Ethernet. Double-click to open the settings window.

Step 5: When the Ethernet Status window opens, select Disable to disconnect the network. Then close this window.

Step 6: At this point, your Ethernet icon will turn gray. Right-click on the icon and choose Enable to reconnect to the network.

Reload the YouTube page
Sometimes, browser errors or network interruptions may occur, affecting the connection or data transmission. It could also be due to Internet disconnection during usage, causing the browser to fail in reconnecting. Simply press F5 or click on the reload icon to resolve.

Change DNS Address
If your service provider blocks YouTube, changing DNS address can help you bypass this issue and regain access to YouTube, significantly improving speed. Follow these steps to change DNS address:
Step 1: Click on the computer icon on the Taskbar and select Network & Internet Settings.

Step 2: Next, in the newly opened window, choose Network and Sharing Centre.

Step 3: Then, the Network and Sharing Centre window opens, where you select Change adapter settings.

Step 4: At this stage, you need to identify the main Internet connection, typically named Ethernet. Right-click on the icon and choose Properties for configuration.

Step 5: Next, double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

Step 6: Select Use the following DNS server addresses and enter the DNS address.
Some Commonly Used DNS Servers:
Google DNS:
Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4
Norton ConnectSafe DNS:
Preferred DNS server: 199.85.126.10
Alternate DNS server: 199.85.127.10

Update the date and time of your computer
The date and time affect the real-time connection of the Internet and the use of various services. If the time is incorrect, the provider may not recognize the accessing device.
Step 1: Click on the Date and Time section on the Taskbar, then select Date and Time Settings.

Step 2: Then, choose Set the time automatically and switch it ON to allow the system to automatically fetch data from the Internet and update the date and time according to the device's current region.

Reduce Video Resolution
Unstable Internet speed is also a major factor affecting YouTube accessibility. This is often due to disruptions in the AAG optical cable affecting international data transmission. You may need to compromise on video resolution for more stability.

Restart your computer
Restarting your computer helps reset software and data to default, allowing the system to reconnect to the Internet server. Restarting the computer is always the quickest and most effective solution for any computer issues.

Clear browser data
Every browser stores user actions and data over time. During usage, accidental installations or configurations may affect connections or block YouTube. Clearing browser data resolves these issues.
