Discover the process of creating a group session using the Snapchat application.
If you have multiple friends you wish to stay connected with simultaneously, forming a group on Snapchat is the solution. Just like initiating other chats, you'll simply need to select the friends you want to include. Here's a beginner's guide on how to make a group on Snapchat using your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

- To initiate a group on Snapchat, navigate to the Chat tab and tap 'New Chat'. Choose multiple friends to include and tap 'Chat with Group'.
- A single group chat can accommodate up to 200 friends.
- To exit a group chat, long-press on the group, then tap 'Leave Group'.
Step-by-Step Guide
Launch the Snapchat app. It appears as a white ghost against a yellow background.
- Group chats can accommodate a maximum of 200 friends.
Tap on the 'Chat' tab. Located as the second tab from the bottom, positioned between Maps and Camera.
Click on the 'New Chat' icon. This icon is depicted in blue at the bottom-left corner, featuring a message bubble and pencil.
Choose the friends you wish to include. You have the option to select up to 200 other friends to join the group chat.
Provide a name for the group. Touch the field at the top and insert a group name, if desired. If managing multiple group chats, you can incorporate emojis for distinction.
- You can also input this name at a later time.
Touch Initiate Group Chat. This appears as the blue button located at the bottom.
- The group chat will commence. You are now able to forward Videos, Snaps, messages, and more.
- You also have the option to share your location, although exercise caution and only share with trusted contacts.
Explore the group chat. Remember, messages exchanged within a group chat do not impact Snap streaks with individual users.
- Hold down on a message to view who has read or saved it.
- When a group member opens a Snap, their name will display below it in the chat interface.
- To mention a group member, enter their display name or input @ followed by their username.
- To include a new member, tap Add Members or Invite at the top and select a user.
- To remove a member, tap the group chat's icon to access the Group Profile. Hold down on a member, and then tap Remove from Group.
- To exit a group chat, navigate to the Chat tab. Hold down on the group, and then select Leave Group.
