

At this point, your computer's hard drive list will appear in the window below. Each hard drive will be displayed as Disk 0, Disk 1, Disk 2, and so on. Each hard drive can be divided into 2 or 3 different partitions.

Step 3: To format a hard drive or partition, simply right-click on the partition and select Format…

A small window will appear, where you can rename the hard drive in the Volume label field. Set the file system to NTFS, then click OK.

A notification will appear indicating that all data on the hard drive will be completely erased. So, if you have important data, be sure to copy it elsewhere. If not, click OK to proceed with the format.

Now all you need to do is wait for the Format process to complete.
Note: In a Windows environment, you cannot Format the C drive, meaning the operating system drive, outside of reinstalling Windows. We can only Format the C drive during the Windows reinstallation process.
