While Spotify simplifies finding and following artists, challenges arise when crafting playlists centered around artists. There's no simple method to add an entire artist's catalog to a Spotify playlist, but we've devised the most effective approach. Although the process is quickest using the desktop app, you can still incorporate an artist's library into a playlist on a mobile device if a computer isn't available. This guide demonstrates how to add all songs by an artist to a single playlist on Spotify.
Steps
Utilizing the Desktop Application

Launch the Spotify desktop application. You can find it in your Windows Start menu or your Mac's Applications folder.

Tap + Create Playlist or + New Playlist. One of these two options will be visible at the top left, depending on your Spotify version.
- After creating a playlist, consider renaming it to reflect the artist. Click the playlist in the left panel, then click the default playlist name ('My Playlist,' followed by a number) at the top to edit it. Enter a new name and click Save.

Tap Search. It's located at the top of the left column.

Navigate to the artist's page. Type the artist's name into the search bar at the top. In the search results, click the artist's name under 'Artists.'

Tap SEE DISCOGRAPHY next to 'Albums.' If the desired artist lacks albums, instead tap SEE DISCOGRAPHY next to 'Singles and EPs'.

Switch to List View. By default, you'll see large images of the artist's album or single covers rather than track listings. Tap the icon of three lines preceded by three dots in the upper-right corner of the page to switch and view all available tracks on every album or single.
- Note the drop-down menu that reads 'ALBUMS' or 'SINGLES' at the top-right corner next to the List View button—you can use this menu to toggle between albums and singles later.

Tap on the three horizontal dots located below the album's title. These dots are positioned above the album's list of tracks. A menu will appear.

Choose Add to playlist and pick your playlist. This action will include the entire album in your artist playlist.

Incorporate the remaining albums similarly. If your artist has multiple albums, tap on the three dots under each album's name, select Add to playlist, and then designate the artist's playlist.

Opt for Singles and EPs from the drop-down menu at the top. If your artist has singles you wish to include—many singles feature songs not found on albums and remixes—it's advisable to verify, then scroll upwards and select this option from the menu.

Include each single using the same method as albums. Tap on the three dots beneath the single or EP title, select Add to playlist, and opt for the artist's playlist.

Incorporate songs featuring the artist (optional). If the artist collaborates on other artists' tracks, consider adding those songs to your playlist. Scroll to the top, click the artist's name to return to their page, then navigate to the 'Appears On' section. To add the featured song(s), click on an album or single they're featured on, locate the song(s) with the artist's name, and drag them into your playlist.
Using the Mobile App

Launch the Spotify mobile app. Look for the green circular icon with three black curved lines.
- If the artist you're playlisting has numerous albums and singles, it's quicker to add all their songs via the desktop app. However, you can still use your phone or tablet if preferred!

Tap on Your Library. This option is located at the bottom of your screen.

Tap + Create Playlist. You'll find this at the top of your library.

Name your playlist and tap Create. This action saves your playlist and opens it for you.

Tap Search. Look for the magnifying glass icon at the bottom-center.

Visit the artist's page. Simply enter the artist's name in the search bar, then tap their page. Ensure you select the option labeled 'Artist' to ensure you're on the correct page.

Scroll down and tap See Discography. This action reveals a list of the artist's albums and singles.

Tap on an album you wish to include. This will display a list of all tracks on that album.

Tap the three dots beneath the album's title. This action will reveal a list of options.

Tap Add to playlist and pick your playlist. Once added, you'll return to the album's track list.

Return and open the next album. If there are multiple albums, select the next one and add it similarly—tap the three dots, choose Add to playlist, and pick your playlist. Continue until you've added all albums.
- If the artist has singles or EPs, they'll be listed below the albums. You can add their tracks the same way.

Include songs featuring the artist (optional). If the artist features on other tracks, you'll want to add those too. Go back to the artist's page, scroll to 'Appears On,' tap each album or single they're featured on, find their songs, tap the three dots, and select Add to playlist > Your Playlist's Name. Repeat for all relevant songs.
