While drafting, you may want to insert mathematical formulas or simple calculations based on templates. This article below helps you insert mathematical formulas in various versions of Word: 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016

Method 1: Writing fractions using shortcut keys
Place the cursor where you want to write the fraction -> Enter the formula eq \f(9,10) note after eq there's a space:

Select all formulas by pressing the Ctrl + F9 shortcut, the inserted formula result will be enclosed in curly brackets:

Next step, highlight all formulas then press Shift + F9. If pressing Shift + F9 doesn't create fractions, press Alt + F9 twice. The result will be your written fraction:

Now you can quickly write fractions in Word. However, memorizing the formulas and steps to create fractions this way requires many actions. If you're working with many fractions, follow method 2 instead.
Method 2: Writing fractions using the Equation tool in Word
Step 1: Place the cursor where you want to write the fraction -> go to the Insert tab -> Symbols -> Equation -> Insert New Equation:

Step 2: In the formula input area, select Design -> Structures -> Fraction -> choose the format of the fraction you want to write:

Step 3: After selecting the type of fraction you want to create -> the display area shows the fraction format you've chosen, all you need to do next is enter the numerator and denominator for the created fraction:

To write the next fraction, place the cursor within the formula area -> repeat the process of selecting the fraction format:

You have successfully created the desired fractions:

If you want to adjust the size of the mathematical formula, simply select the entire formula -> go to the Home tab and change the size in the Size: section

Additionally, for each problem, you can choose different fraction formatting styles, there are 4 types:

For example, list the fractions that can use the 2nd formatting style:

Here are some methods to help you create fractions in Word 2016. The procedures are similar for versions 2007, 2010, and 2013. Wishing you success!
