While immersing yourself in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on your PC, you have the option to enjoy your personal music collection stored on your computer while playing the game. The music will play as you drive through the streets of San Andreas, providing a more customized gaming experience. Adding music to GTA SA for PC is a relatively simple process.
Steps
Copying Your Music

Copy the music files you wish to include. Navigate to the directory on your computer where your music files are located. Highlight the desired files, right-click with your mouse, and select “Copy” from the menu that appears. Ensure that the music files are in MP3 format, as any other format will not be playable in the game.

To access the “GTA San Andreas User Files” directory, navigate to it on your hard drive. Press the Windows key, then type “GTA San Andreas User Files” into the search bar. Click on the folder when it appears in the search results to open it.

Locate the “User Tracks” folder. Within the “GTA San Andreas User Files” directory, you'll find a folder labeled “User Tracks.”

Transfer your music files. Open the “User Tracks” folder by double-clicking it. Right-click anywhere inside the folder, then choose “Paste” from the menu to transfer the music files you previously selected.
- Feel free to copy as many music files as you'd like into this folder. However, you'll need a minimum of four music files to play them in the game.
Importing Your Music

Launch GTA SA. Double-click the game icon on your desktop to start it up. Wait for the game to load and display the main menu. From there, you can either select “Continue” to resume a saved game or “New Game” to begin anew. Once selected, you'll enter the game.

Access the Game Settings. While in-game, press the “ESC” key to open the menu. Navigate to “Settings” using the arrow keys and press Enter to enter the Game Settings.

Adjust your game's audio settings. Navigate to “Audio” in the menu on the left side of the screen. Here, you can fine-tune your game's audio preferences.

Initiate a music scan. Select “Perform Full Scan for Music” from the options to search for music files in the User Tracks folder. Other options will be temporarily disabled until the scan is complete. The duration of the scan depends on the number of music files present.
Leave the Settings. After the scan is finished and audio options are re-enabled, press the “ESC” key to exit the settings and return to the game screen. Your changes will be saved automatically.
Enjoying Your Music

Enter a vehicle. Approach any vehicle and press the 'Return' or “F” key to get in. Once inside, the car radio will start playing automatically.
- Every vehicle in the game has a radio system.

Enjoy your tunes. While in the vehicle, use the “R” or “4” keys to switch to the “User Track Player” station. This station plays the music you've added to the “User Tracks” folder.
Change tracks. To switch to the next song in your playlist, press the “F5” key, and the radio will play the next track.
