1. Installing Backup and Sync (New Version of Google Photos)
Step 1: Download the Backup and Sync utility for the latest version on your computer from the link:
Step 2: Right-click on the setup file, select Open.
Step 3: Select Run to proceed with the Backup and Sync installation.
Step 4: Click the Get Started button to skip the user welcome window.
Step 5: Enter your email address and then click Next.
Step 6:Enter your email password, then continue by clicking Next.
Step 7: Choose data synchronization method
- Back up photos and videos: Only synchronize photos and videos
- Back up all file types: Synchronize all file types
Once selected, press Next to proceed to the next step.
Step 8: Choose folders, file sync quality
- Under My Computer, mark the folders you want to sync to the cloud.
- Under Photos and Videos upload size, you have 2 options:
+ High quality: Upload files with high quality
+ Original quality: Upload files with original quality
Click the Start button to begin the data synchronization process.
A notification window will appear in the corner of the screen, the process of syncing data from your computer to Google will take quite a while, depending on your data volume. Please be patient and wait.
2. Proceed with installing and using Google Photos on Windows (Old Version)
Download Google Photos for Windows
Step 1: After downloading Google Photos for Windows, go to your storage drive and double-click on the software.
Step 2: To proceed with the installation of Google Photos, select I Agree to accept the terms of use in the pop-up window before installation.
Step 3: The installation process will proceed quite quickly. When the Google Photos Backup dialog box appears, simply click Continue.
Step 4: Next, you'll see a login dialog box appear. At this point, you'll need to sign in to your Gmail account. (If you don't have one, sign up for Gmail to use.)
Step 5: After successfully logging in, you'll see a box appear with folders used for automatic backup and upload of photos from your computer to Google's servers.
Here you can select various items you want to sync.
- Choose High Quality to store unlimited data.
