Instead of ordinary fried tofu, try changing up the flavor for your family with this crispy fried tofu dish that smells amazing and has a crunchy exterior while remaining soft inside!
Crispy fried tofu (or crispy tofu) is a dish that you'll never forget after just one bite, with its crispy and delicious outer layer and the softness inside lingering on your taste buds. However, the method is quite simple, and the ingredients are always available and affordable. To ensure that the crispy tofu meets the right standards, let's take a look at how to make it right away with PasGo!

Ingredients:
(for 4 servings)
- Young tofu: 5 small pieces (if the tofu pieces are large, then just 3 pieces)
- Crispy frying flour: 1 packet
- Tempura flour: 1 packet
- Free-range chicken eggs: 2 eggs
- Cooking oil, salt, pepper
- Lettuce, coriander
- Non-stick pan

Instructions:
Step 1: Preparation
- Rinse the lettuce and coriander thoroughly, soak them in salted water for 15 minutes, then rinse and drain them well
- Cut the tofu into moderate-sized chunks (not too big or too small as the fried tofu tends to shrink during cooking, cutting them too small will result in less attractive and less tasty pieces), then sprinkle some salt on them for a richer flavor.

Pro Tip: Place the tofu in the freezer compartment of your fridge for about 30 minutes before frying to prevent it from crumbling or breaking apart during frying.
Step 2: Execution
- Beat the chicken eggs thoroughly with a pinch of pepper.
- Pour the tempura flour into a large bowl, and for the crispy frying flour, mix it with a little pepper. Roll the tofu in the crispy frying flour, then dip it into the egg bowl, and finally coat it with the tempura flour. Roll until the tempura flour sticks evenly to the tofu, repeat this process for all the tofu pieces.

Note:
+ For extra crispiness and appealing color, dipping the tofu pieces in egg is crucial, but if you prefer, you can skip this step.
+ When coating the tofu with flour, it's better to use your hands instead of chopsticks as the tofu is very soft and could easily break apart. Just gently roll the tofu in the flour to ensure even coating around the tofu pieces.
- Heat the cooking oil in a pan (it doesn't need to be fully submerged) and then add the tofu pieces coated with egg and flour. When frying, make sure to flip them evenly on both sides to achieve a uniform golden color; avoid over-frying as it may diminish the delicious taste and aroma.
- Once the tofu turns evenly golden, remove it from the oil, drain excess oil, and enjoy.

Finished product requirements: The crispy fried tofu should be crispy on the outside and hot on the inside. When you bite into a piece, you should feel the creamy, crispy texture of the outer coating, followed by the soft, melting texture of the tofu inside. At this point, you can dip it in chili sauce or mayonnaise, serve it with lettuce and herbs, ensuring it's tastier than any other dish.
