Thai milk tea is incredibly popular among young people. Not only does it have a delightful taste, but its vibrant colors are also very eye-catching. Let's make this drink right at home!
Making Thai milk tea is actually quite simple. Thai milk tea comes in two types: red Thai tea and green Thai tea. Today, I'll share with you two delicious recipes for Thai-style milk tea.
1. How to Make Green Thai Milk Tea.
Ingredients for Making Green Thai Milk Tea:
Jelly:
- 1 packet of fish-shaped agar jelly: 10g;
- Sugar: 280g;
- Water: 3 liters.
Milk tea:
- Chilled filtered water: 1.5 liters;
- Boiling water: 2 liters;
- Tea: 40g;
- Condensed milk: 1 can (you can adjust the amount according to taste preference)
- Sugar: 200g.
Steps to Follow:
Step 1: Jelly Part
Mix jelly powder thoroughly with sugar. Boil about 3 liters of water, then pour the jelly powder mixture in, stirring until dissolved. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then turn off the heat. When the jelly is still warm, remove the film on top. Store the jelly in the fridge until set, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
Note: If you want different flavors of jelly, you can add natural ingredients like coconut water, coconut cream, fruit juice, or coconut cream. To add these flavors, simply pour them into the jelly mixture after boiling and turning off the heat.
Step 2: Milk Tea Part Brew tea with 2 liters of boiling water. Let it steep for about 20 minutes, then strain to extract the essence. Add a little more water to the tea leaves, about 1.5 liters, then strain again and mix with the tea essence. This will give us a rich, dark green tea. Add condensed milk and sugar to taste, transforming the tea into a light green color.

2. How to Make Red Thai Milk Tea.
Preparing Red Thai Milk Tea requires the following ingredients:
- Condensed milk: 30ml;
- Thai tea leaves: 50g; (readily available at supermarkets)
- Sugar: 50g.
Steps to Follow:
Step 1: Boil 400ml water. Once the water is boiling, add the Thai tea leaves and let them steep for about 5 minutes. Be careful not to steep for too long, or the tea will become bitter. Once the tea leaves have fully sunk, add sugar and stir until dissolved.
Step 2: When the tea has cooled slightly, strain it again through a filter bag and discard the used bag. Transfer the strained tea into a chilled compartment of the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
Step 3: Fill a glass with ice, pour the tea slowly over the ice, and finally add the milk. For an extra treat, make some cheese agar jelly to enjoy with the Thai red milk tea, it will be delicious!
