A straightforward guide to adding and sharing your AirTags across all your Apple devices
Are you attempting to connect an AirTag to a second iPhone or another Apple device like an iPad? You can connect an AirTag to multiple devices only if you're logged in to the same iCloud ID on both devices. Additionally, you can now share AirTags with family members due to a new feature in iOS 17.

Instructions
Adding AirTag to Another Device
Log in to your iCloud account on the second device. Whether you're adding an AirTag to a second iPhone or an iPad, ensure you're signed in to the same iCloud account on both devices.
Launch the Find My app and choose Devices > Add a Device. This initiates the pairing process with your AirTag.
Hold the AirTag close to your device and tap Connect on the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your AirTag with the second device.
- If you encounter difficulties connecting the AirTag to both devices, remove the AirTag from both devices, ensure you're signed in to the same iCloud account on each phone, and re-pair the AirTag with the devices.
Sharing AirTag via Family Sharing
Access the Find My app. To add an AirTag to another iPhone, ensure you're running iOS 17, which enables AirTag sharing among family members. Make sure your AirTag is already set up in the Find My app. If not, follow the setup process.
- You must also have two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple ID, and the recipient must have an Apple ID signed in to iCloud. Sharing is not available for child accounts, and both the owner and recipients must have iCloud Keychain enabled.
Select the Items tab and locate the AirTag. You'll find various options available to you.
Tap Add Person. This button is located below Share This AirTag on the screen.
Enter the Apple ID of the person you wish to share with. To add more individuals, tap the + button and input each person's Apple ID(s).
Tap Share located in the top-right corner. All invited individuals will be listed on the item's main screen along with their invitation status.
- If an invite is accepted, the AirTag will appear in their Find My app. If an invite is declined, the individual's name will be removed from the list.
