To buy apps from the Windows Phone store, first, contact your bank to create an international payment account (MasterCard or Visa Card).
Step 1. Then, go to http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store to buy the app, which can be done on either a computer or phone (preferably on a computer).
Step 2. From the App+Games section, browse and find your favorite app (or enter keywords in the search box above to quickly find apps). Once you have the app, scroll down and click the Buy button.
Step 3. Log in to your Microsoft Live account to sync with your phone and record your app purchase. Each app only needs to be purchased once, and if your phone resets, you'll reuse your account on the phone to download the app for free in subsequent times.
Step 4. In the next window, enter the card information into the blanks provided by Microsoft. Note: CVV is the three-digit security number on the back of the card. Once done, fill in the billing address below, then click Next.
Step 5. You will wait for Microsoft's verification process for a moment, until you receive the message This charge will be placed on your XXX card account. No refund for this purchase transaction. Click Next again. An email will be sent to your Hotmail address confirming your app purchase.
Step 6. Activate the purchased app: Install the app as a trial as usual, then select Buy now in the software interface. A dialog box appears, and a message confirms that the account has successfully purchased the app (Activated). Press the Buy now button again to unlock the app with all features (Full-unlock).
Some points to note:
- It's advisable to use a MasterCard for app purchases from windowsphone.com.
- Some bank cards may incur fees when paying online, so you need to inquire with the bank you intend to use for details. From personal experience, you can use a MasterCard Paypass card (no fees when paying, at the exact price of the app listed on the store), and payment is very convenient in Vietnam.
