Step 1: Open Yahoo Messenger, at the bottom corner of the chat box, click Forgot your password?

Step 2: The Yahoo homepage opens, presenting you with 3 options

- I have a problem with my password: If you're having password issues.
- I forgot my Yahoo! ID: If you've forgotten your Yahoo login.
- My account may have been compromised: Suspecting unauthorized access to your account.

To retrieve a lost password, select I have a problem with my password, then click Next to proceed

Step 3: In the My Yahoo! ID section, enter your username, then press Next

Step 4: In the next window, there are 2 options for Yahoo to send the password back: Send via SMS or send via Email (Phone number and Email registered with the account). Finally, click Next.

- Choose to send via SMS, you will receive a new password. You log in to Yahoo using this password
- Choose to send to Email, you check your mail and click on the link Yahoo sent to change your password.
