Duolingo offers a platform to learn various languages. Whether you're using the mobile app or a computer, this guide will assist you in removing a language from your Duolingo account. Unfortunately, the app itself doesn't provide an option for language deletion, so you'll need to use a web browser on your computer.
Steps
Launch a web browser. You can use Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Opera.
Go to https://www.duolingo.com/. Look for the page with a night sky background featuring an image of Earth and the text, “Learn a language free. Forever.”
- Log in if necessary. The login button is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Hover over your profile icon and name located in the upper right corner of your screen. This will prompt a drop-down menu to appear.
Navigate to the 'Settings' option and click on it. This action will direct you to a page where you can modify various account settings such as your username and email address.
Locate and select 'Learning Language' positioned under the 'Account' section on the right-hand side of your screen.
Find and click on 'Reset or remove languages' situated in the center of your screen under the 'See all language courses' section. Upon clicking, a page will load displaying all the languages you are currently learning.
Identify the 'Remove' option next to the language you wish to delete. Note that adding a previously removed language will initiate the learning process from the beginning, disregarding any previous progress.
