Procedures
Deleting Synced Contacts from your Android Device

Launch Messenger on your Android device. Look for the blue chat bubble icon with a white lightning bolt inside. Typically, it’s located on the home screen or in the app drawer.
- Employ this technique if you intend to eliminate all contacts that Facebook Messenger has automatically synced from your Android.
- If any of those contacts are your Facebook friends, they will remain connected on Messenger.

Tap on your profile picture. Located at the top of your screen.

Scroll down and select People. Positioned around the middle of the menu.

Turn off ″Sync Contacts.″ This option is found at the top of your screen. If you don’t see ″Off″ below it, tap it, and then switch the toggle to the Off (gray) position.
- If you’re not automatically taken back to the ″People″ menu, tap the back button once to return now.

Select Manage Contacts. Placed near the top of the menu. A list of all contacts imported from your phone or tablet will be displayed.

Choose Delete All Contacts. Found at the top-left corner of the list. This action refreshes the page, and you will see a message saying ″Your imported contacts are being deleted.″ After this process is completed, Facebook Messenger will no longer automatically add contacts from your Android. Moreover, any contacts it has already added will be removed.
Eliminating a Facebook Pal

Launch Messenger on your Android device. Look for the blue chat bubble icon with a white lightning bolt inside, typically found on your home screen or in the app drawer.
- This method entails removing your Facebook friend, indicating that you both will no longer be listed as friends. If you wish to remain Facebook friends but cease chatting on Messenger, refer to this alternative method.

Touch People. This icon features two heads at the bottom of the screen.

Tap All People. You'll find it near the top, revealing a list of all your Messenger contacts.

Choose the individual you wish to exclude. This action initiates a conversation with them.

Touch the person’s name. It’s located at the top of the conversation.

Tap View Facebook Profile. This may be labeled as View profile in certain versions of Messenger.

Tap Friends. It’s the blue person icon beneath the person’s name and cover photo (the first icon in the row). A menu will appear.

Tap Unfriend. A confirmation message will pop up.

Tap OK. This individual is now removed from your Facebook friends list.

Navigate back to the All People list in Messenger. You might need to reopen Messenger and then press the back button to return to the list.

Find the contact you recently deleted. Shortly, this individual should disappear from your Messenger contact list automatically.
- If their name still shows up, tap the 'i' inside a circle next to their name (it might appear as a gray card with a '+' inside on certain Android devices), then select Remove.
