When a Rubik's Cube pops, it might seem like a disaster. However, with some perseverance, you can quickly get it back into working order! And the best part? It ends up solved once you're finished!
Steps
Inspect the cube. Check for any sharp or jagged pieces, which may indicate damage. Ensure all pieces are smooth and intact. Count the pieces: 1 core with 6 centers, 12 'edge' pieces with 2 colors, and 8 'corner' pieces with 3 colors.
Complete the white edges. Locate all 4 edges with white on them. These edges have 2 colors each. Align each piece by matching both colors with the centers on the core. You should form a white cross with a bar on each side. To insert a piece, turn the center 45 degrees and slot the edge piece into place.
Complete the first layer. Lay the cross flat on the table to prevent pieces from falling out. Locate the white corner pieces with 3 colors and insert them into their designated spots. Ensure that the colors align correctly as in the previous step.
Insert the 2nd layer.
Now, identify the edge pieces without yellow. Insert them similarly to the corner pieces, ensuring proper alignment. You should be left with one layer to fix and 8 remaining pieces, all with yellow.
Place the final layer corners. Rotate the center by 45 degrees and align the corners with the edges below them. Ensure that the yellow side faces up and that the colors match the adjacent pieces.
Position the final layer edges. This is the most challenging step. Carefully align the last 4 edge pieces, ensuring they match the adjacent colors. Be gentle while inserting the edges to avoid damaging the cube.
Install the last edge. Repeat the process for 2 other pieces, gently slotting them into place at a 45-degree angle. Once you reach the last piece, rotate the entire last layer and insert it with caution. Avoid applying excessive force to prevent breakage.
Congratulations! You've successfully reassembled your cube!
