Files always come with extensions like .exe, .png ... you can hide/ show these file extensions on your computer.
You can follow the steps below to hide/ show file extensions.
Step 1: Open Windows Explorer -> Organize -> Folder and search options.

Alternatively, you can open the Start Menu, type Folder Options in the search bar, and select Folder Options.

Step 2: In the Folder Options dialog, click on the View tab.

Step 3: On the View tab, under Advanced settings, locate the section Hide extensions for known file types.
To hide file extensions, check the box next to Hide extensions for known file types; to show file extensions, uncheck that box. After setting your preference, click OK.
